Brian Bornes

Director of Marketing

Brian Bornes is the Director of Marketing with the University of Pittsburgh Center for Excellence in Digital Education (Pitt EDGE). His work focuses on creative strategy, Pitt EDGE/Pitt Online brand and messaging development, student-centered storytelling and enrollment marketing for online and graduate education. His professional interests include integrated marketing strategy, data-driven content, AI-enabled workflows and innovative implementation of emerging marketing tools and tactics.

Bornes has worked in the field of digital marketing for over 12 years with 9 of those years dedicated to education. His contributions include integrated marketing initiatives, enrollment-focused campaign strategy, multimedia creative development and brand storytelling. His experience includes overseeing creative asset development across digital and legacy channels, establishing messaging frameworks and creative standards, aligning marketing materials with enrollment priorities and brand guidelines, evaluating performance through data and analytics and guiding content development that supports recruitment and institutional goals.

Bornes is an alumnus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Outside of the University, he consults on marketing and creative projects, pursues videography and documentary storytelling, enjoys live music and Pirates games, is a die-hard Packers fan and loves spending time with his better-half and their Shih Tzu, Weston.
