LaToya Walters is the director of Graduate Recruitment with the University of Pittsburgh Center for Excellence in Digital Education (Pitt EDGE). Her work focuses on designing and executing a streamlined graduate recruitment strategy across the University's 14 graduate schools, coordinating top-of-funnel outreach for online, master’s and professional programs and building pathways to increase access for all student populations.
Walters’ main responsibility is to ensure every prospective online, master’s and professional student experiences a clear, consistent and inspiring pathway from discovery to enrollment. She develops outreach strategies that expand access for working adults, first-generation graduate students, underrepresented populations, Pitt undergraduates through Pitt2Pitt pipelines, and students from outside the region and abroad.
With over eight years of experience in higher education student affairs, admissions and recruitment, Walters has contributed to enrollment growth initiatives, cross-campus collaboration and strategic outreach programming. She has developed and implemented recruitment plans, connected with students across Pitt's main and regional campuses as well as domestically and internationally, led pathway-building efforts, and coordinated large-scale recruitment events.
Walters is also a two-time alumna of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree from the School of Arts and Science and a master's degree from the School of Education.
